This project is a follow up to the RC Panzer III work I accomplished. My goal was to have all of the functionality of the past project (track movement) and build on it to have both turret traverse and elevation. I was able to implement the turret traverse and elevation very early on.
In between getting the elevation/traverse functions and the locomotion, I painted the vehicle with an airbrush.
Unfortunately, I botched the next step. I tried to have the drive train powered off of a drive-belt system using o-rings but the system couldn’t be tensioned enough to provide enough friction to transfer energy from the motor to the drive sprocket. My current problem is working to remove the system above and replace it with a timing-belt style drive.
