Most of my professional experience so far has been as an Electrical Engineer at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. I started as an intern in 2016 and have worked there since. I specifically work on rotating electrical equipment, such as motors and generators. As part of my promotion to the terminal/senior GS12 grade, I studied and presented a technical presentation on 3-phase stator rewinds.
Along the way, I have been extremely fortunate to have studied under some brilliant engineers. Their example motivated me to pursue a Master of Science degree and to seek licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE). I’m happy to report that over the summer of 2023 I studied for and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam on 08/16/2023, and two months later passed the Electronics, Controls, and Communications PE exam on 10/24/2023. That winter, I was licensed by the State of Maine and concurrently awarded my Master of Science in Robotics Engineering.
